Safeguarding

We believe that all people are valuable and worthy of both respect and care, because they are made in the image of God. We believe that God is the defender of the vulnerable and that the Lord Jesus cares for and values all equally. We believe we have organisational responsibility, before God, to care for and protect everyone from harm.

Our Child Safety policy is designed to reduce the risk of harm to children under the care of SIM International (UK), and to reduce the risk of misconduct towards children by Serving In Mission workers.

Our Safeguarding Adults policy is designed to ensure that Serving In Mission staff, volunteers, members and workers will always aim to act in the best interests of adults at risk of harm.

We expect every individual to be treated with dignity, care and respect. We recognise our responsibility to safeguard the welfare of everyone within our care, by earnestly striving to protect them from harm and seriously addressing concerns and reports of possible safety issues, which may include physical harm, sexual harm, emotional harm, self-harm and neglect.

We have enacted both prevention and response strategies to form our safeguarding policies and procedures.

If you have any concerns about the well-being of a child or adult at risk of harm, or a situation which you feel increases the risk of harm to a child or adult at risk of harm, please contact Serving In Mission’s Safeguarding Lead either in person or via [email protected]
